You'd be hard-pressed to find a more book-loving town than Ann Arbor - and we saw lots of passion and care from the booksellers and shop owners throughout the downtown area. From Literati to Dawn Treader, and Vault of Midnight to West Side, downtown Ann Arbor has book shops beloved to historians, authors, artists, and others.
Venturing outside of downtown? Don't miss these gems as well: Bookbound (near Ayse's on Plymouth Road), Black Stone Bookstore (in downtown Ypsilanti near The Rocket and Encuentro Latino), and these unique shops in Milan, Dexter and Chelsea.
