Bonfyre Trail Fest

A beautiful fall trail run with a post race bonfire and beer garden!

Join us for the BONFYRE TRAIL FEST at the DTE Energy Foundation Trail in Waterloo State Recreation area, the largest park in Michigan's Lower Peninsula!

The Bonfyre Trail Fest at the new DTE Energy Foundation Trail will make your dirty dreams come true! The flow of this dirt roller coaster is unlike any other trail in the area. As you traverse through pines, along steep embankments and around boulders, you'll wonder if you're out west... until the stunning lakes and wetlands remind you that you are indeed in PURE MICHIGAN!

Choose your distance! Distances are exact... or thereabouts:

Green: 5 Miles of roller coaster, flowing fun!

Kame: 10 Miles beginning with  easy flowing fun, then upping the ante to more challenging miles with climbs and a few fun features.

Winn: 18 Miles with a mix of flowing fun, challenging climbs and descent, followed by a little more challenging stuff.

Cutoff Times: All participants must finish by 3PM (5 hours). 5 Mile and 10.7 Mile are hiker friendly (must maintain 25 minutes/mile).

Please note: All trail mileage at DTE Energy Foundation Trails has been measured multiple times with a measuring wheel. GPS is innacurate on flow trails due to coastline paradox so your watch may be innacurate. 

In the unlikely event that the DTE Energy Foundation Trail conditions are compromised due to weather, the rain date will be November 9, 2024.
