Comedian: Tom Thakkar

Tom Thakkar has been seen on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, CONAN, The Stand Up Show with Jon Dore, This Week at the Comedy Cellar, and This Might Help with Matt Braunger. He been featured on Comedy Central twice, first on Stand Up Presents and later as the host of Stand Up with Tom Thakkar. He has also performed at prestigious events like Just For Laughs, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and First Nations Comedy Experience. Additionally he was a featured performer at Limestone Comedy Festival, Chicago Comedy Exposition, Crom Fest Omaha, and more.

In addition to his on-stage success, Thakkar has written sketches and jokes for SyFy’s The Movie Show and co-hosted two podcasts: You Up with Nikki Glaser and Stand By Your Band. He has also been featured on Doug Loves Movies, VICE, NPR, The Todd Glass Show, PBS and was named a Comedian You Should Know by Chicago Magazine.

Now living in Brooklyn, Tom grew up in Bloomington, IN, and Chicago. His unique background includes being raised by a hardworking, Red Lobster-managing mom and a deadbeat Indian dad, which led to the unusual experience of being a poor, pudgy Indian kid in southern Indiana.
