You'll start off this day with coffee and pastries at the farm before taking a short trip down the road to Spring Valley Trout Farm. Together with Chef Kieron Hales and Zingerman’s Food tour guide Kristie Brablec, spend the morning trout fishing before heading back to the farm.
Once returning back to the farm, enjoy a light lunch before stepping into the garden for a lesson in tomatoes and herbs for a midsummer harvest. During this time you’ll learn some of the most interesting heirloom varieties and see several growing techniques. You’ll have a chance to ask questions and learn the basics that will help ensure a healthy harvest in your own garden, regardless of size.
With your newfound skills and fresh fish, step into the kitchen and get to work. From here you’ll learn how to clean and prepare your freshly caught fish along with several side dishes brought to you by the Cornman Farms garden. Then, enjoy a beautiful dinner together to showcase and highlight your farm adventure.
