Dr. Scott Kaufman will discuss Gerald Ford's history and legacy, as well as his unique friendship with his successor, Jimmy Carter.
Dr. Kaufman is professor of History and a Board of Trustees Research Scholar at Francis Marion University in South Carolina, where he has taught since 2001. He is the author, co-author, or editor of twelve books, including A Companion to Gerald R. Ford and Jimmy Carter (2015) and Ambition, Pragmatism, and Party: A Political Biography of Gerald R. Ford (2017). He is currently working on two books: a history of impeachment in the United States, and a comparative history of the Panama and Suez Canals.
