Nandi Comer, an esteemed poet and the current Poet Laureate of Michigan, will share her unique insights and profound experiences through her evocative poetry. Her work has received national acclaim for its poignant exploration of identity, culture, and the human experience. This lecture presents a unique opportunity for faculty and students to engage with contemporary poetry and be inspired by Comer’s artistic journey and contributions to the literary world.
Comer will be joined by Stella Ruby Hughes, a senior at Hamtramck High School. Hughes is a youth poet with Inside Out Literary Arts in Detroit. She mainly writes poetry but has recently been branching out and creating short fiction stories.
