Sharing Space Opening Reception

Sharing Space coincides with the grand opening of the Art Center’s new 1200 sq. ft. street-level gallery and renovated studio spaces located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor.

Sharing Space brings together artists working from the perspective of diverse creative practices and life experiences to explore themes of intimacy, distance, connection, and comfort. Activating our senses through sound, touch, and sight, their work challenges us to imagine new possibilities for making space for ourselves and others in the face of personal and societal transformation.

At the heart of the exhibition is an invitation to reflect on strategies for bridging vast distances and seemingly impassible divides or, alternatively, for finding a space of one’s own in the midst of a crowd.
