Sarcoma is a rare connective tissue malignancy (cancer) that affects people of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. Sarcomas make up about 1% of all adult cancers. Due to this rarity, patients often feel isolated after being diagnosed and throughout treatment.

Stomp Out Sarcoma was started by a group of health care providers in the Sarcoma Clinic at the University of Michigan Health Rogel Cancer Center to raise awareness about this rare disease and to provide support to patients, families, caregivers, and friends affected by sarcoma.

All proceeds from the fun run/walk will go to the Sarcoma Clinical Research Fund at the University of Michigan Health Rogel Cancer Center, to help researchers and clinicians better understand this disease and find more effective treatments
