Three of the most celebrated artists on the trad scene today -- Liz Carroll, Maeve Gilchrist and Nic Gareiss -- are bringing the traditional music and dance of Ireland to Saline, Mich. and the warm, intimate environment of Stony Lake Brewing.
Liz Carroll is an Irish fiddler, composer and recording artist. She is the first Irish-American musician to be nominated for a Grammy, and the first American-born composer honored with the Cumadóir TG4, Ireland’s most significant traditional music prize.
Described by one critic as “a phenomenal harp player who can make her instrument ring with unparalleled purity”, Maeve Gilchrist has taken the Celtic harp to new levels of performance.
Michigan-born dancer, musician, and dance researcher Nic Gareiss has been described by the Irish Times as “the human epitome of the unbearable lightness of being,” and "the most inventive and expressive step dancer on the scene” by the Boston Herald.
