The 2025 USRowing RowFest National Championships are coming to Ypsilanti! Hosted by the Ann Arbor Sports Commission in partnership with USRowing, this 10-day event brings top athletes to race on a new, world-class rowing course on Ford Lake.

Bringing fresh energy with a first-of-its-kind event at Ford Lake, the Sports Commission is connecting RowFest to our community through lasting partnerships, engaging events, and fun ways to join in.

Here is how the Ann Arbor Sports Commission is making a positive local impact in Ypsilanti and the Ann Arbor area.

Partnerships Powering RowFest

The Ann Arbor Sports Commission and Eastern Michigan University (EMU), in collaboration with the Marriott at Eagle Crest and Ypsilanti Charter Township, built a high-performance rowing course on Ford Lake, putting Ypsilanti on the map as a national rowing destination.

Working together as the local organizing committees to host this year’s national event, the Sports Commission, EMU, and the Township are actively engaging with the community while inviting exciting events to the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area.

Community Connections in Action

These connections and events help amplify top things to do, including local restaurants, shops, and activities beyond the course. By sharing these tips with RowFest visitors, the goal is to encourage exploration and help boost economic impact.

Craft Beer with Arbor Brewing Company

To celebrate RowFest, Arbor Brewing Company created a custom name and label for a limited-edition beer designed especially to welcome the US Rowing community, called 'Either Oar’.'Either Oar' graphic design for arbor brewing company beer, inspired by RowFest. Design consists of the colors red, white, and blue, and portrays mini icons resembling boats with paddles on each side.

Corner brewery, the brewery’s Ypsilanti taproom, welcomes RowFest visitors, making it the perfect place to relax on the patio.
