55th Ann Arbor Hash Bash

April 4th, 2026

High Noon @ The Diag

Every year on the first Saturday in April, downtown Ann Arbor becomes the ultimate destination for cannabis enthusiasts. Meet in the center of campus at the U-M Diag. Experience the 54th annual Ann Arbor Hash Bash, and nearby Monroe Street Fair, for history in the making.

The arrest and imprisonment of poet John Sinclair —for possession of two joints—set Ann Arbor on the trajectory as Michigan’s (and perhaps the country’s) most pioneering cannabis community. Sinclair’s arrest and 10-year sentence led to protests and rallies, ultimately morphing into the iconic Hash Bash, an annual protest-fueled gathering since 1972.

Hash Bash speakers to include:
  • Comedian and actor Tommy Chong
  • Local blues musician Laith Al-Saadi
  • Washtenaw County Sheriff Alyshia Dyer
  • State Senator Jeff Irwin
  • Leni Sinclair, ex-wife of the late marijuana activist John Sinclair
