In addition to each fair’s jury-selected artists, here are some highlights to put on your to-do list. As part of the State Street Art Fair (one of the four fairs that make up the event as a whole), the Ann Arbor State Street Hand-Crafted Marketplace is one of the newer pieces of the event. Artists and crafts persons showcase their works, building awareness for handmade goods as an alternative to mass-produced items.

Visit the Art Demo Zone for a peek into the creative process of a professional artist, and if you want to try out your artistic skills, the nearby Art Activity Zone should be your next stop. Both are located at the Ann Arbor Street Fair, The Original. The Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair is home to the Ark Stage - one of the most vibrant musical performance spaces within the event. Right on Main Street, this stage will come alive throughout the weekend with live music - including daytime performances that are fun for the whole family. The South University Craft Fair featuring craft art can be found at the center of the South University Art Fair. Enjoy great music at the beer tent on Church Street.

In addition to the art, the retail and culinary climate explode in the State Street District, along South University and downtown on Main Street. With over 1,000 artists in attendance specializing in mediums like photography, ceramics, fiber, jewelry and sculpture - and demos, music, kids activities and more - don’t miss the Ann Arbor Art Fair!
