Destination Ann Arbor is thrilled to announce the promotion of Amy Karbo to the position of Vice President of Marketing. With over 20 years of marketing and community engagement experience, Amy brings a wealth of experience, strategic vision, and marketing leadership to her new role.

Amy has been an integral part of the Destination Ann Arbor team, having initially joined the organization in October 2018 as the Business Engagement Manager. In September 2022, as the Director of Communications and Community Engagement, she made impactful contributions to the Ann Arbor area community and beyond. Amy’s extensive experience and impactful work have been instrumental in fostering community ties and enhancing our outreach efforts.

Amy actively contributes to the local community through her involvement in various boards, including board positions with Creative Washtenaw and the State Street District, as well as participating in the Executive Planning Committee for the Ann Arbor Bicentennial.

Prior to her time with Destination Ann Arbor, Amy sharpened her marketing skills working at various advertising agencies, notably serving as Senior Account Executive at DDM Marketing & Communications. There, she managed the Michigan International Speedway account, showcasing her ability to lead high-profile projects with strategic insight and creativity. A proud alumna of Marquette University, Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing, laying the groundwork for her successful career.

In her new role as Vice President of Marketing, Amy will focus on strategically building out the marketing team to meet the evolving strategic needs of Destination Ann Arbor. Her leadership is expected to drive innovation and data-driven marketing strategies to promote the Ann Arbor area as a premier destination for visitors and business meetings.
