Fall on U-M Campus

With a crisp feeling in the air and the vibrant colors of autumn, here are some of our favorite spots around campus to make the most of the season:

Law Quad

U-M campus law quad in fallWhile gorgeous anytime of year, the U-M Law Quad is especially beautiful in the fall. With architecture compared to that of the fictional Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series, the historic Law Quad is a popular spot for an outdoor lunch and relaxation on campus. 

North Campus

Campus Fall photoThe North Campus area at the University of Michigan is sprawling, walkable, and scenic - especially in the fall. Head to this part of campus for a musical at the Arthur Miller Theatre, check out some art at the Duderstadt Center, or simply wander and explore. You’ll want this part of campus on your must-visit list for autumn.

Barton Nature Area

Ingalls Mall

Ingall's mall on u-m campuss during fallThe site of lots of popular events, Ingalls Mall has lovely views this time of year, framed by the unique architecture on campus. Take in the scenery of Burton Memorial Tower among the red, orange, and yellow leaves in this picturesque U-M location. 

Nichols Arboretum

Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Matthaei Botanical Gardens FallNearby, visitors can find stunning maple groves in the fall at U-M Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Featuring six beautiful trails connecting visitors to nature, including one universally accessible trail (trailchair available for reservation). Matthaei spans over 90 acres and provides amazing views of fall foliage.
