If you're looking to create a greater impact in the Ann Arbor area, there are several ways to connect and support community this season and year-round.
Whether you're ready to roll up your sleeves for a downtown clean up day or planning a thoughtful donation drive, find your speed with these ten ways you can give back.

1. Search the volunteering opportunities with United Way of Southeastern Michigan, ranging from meal preparation to mentorship and everything in between.
2. Join Food Gatherers in the fight against hunger. Volunteer for a day or become a regular helping in the warehouse, delivering food, or in the community kitchen.
3. Donate time, money, or goods to the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County. SAWC is dedicated to ending homelessness one person at a time. Host a drive and donating gently used items and clothing to make a difference.
4. Home to a variety of farmers markets, a small market purchase can go a long way. Learn about Growing Hope's opportunities for urban farm work, or volunteer at the Ypsilanti farmers market.

5. SOS Community Services provides support in various ways to those who need it most. For the holiday season, consider donating gift cards and household goods to help provide holiday presents and meals.
6. Check in with Friends In Deed who often run donation drives and hosts fun ways to fundraise including the Over the Edge annual event! Raise funds and if a certain goal is achieved, you can rappel down a high rise.

7. Ozone House helps support our local teens in difficult situations. Create a drive for donating funds.
8. Help keep the area clean by volunteering for clean-up days and more outdoor opportunities through Washtenaw County volunteering opportunities.
9. If animals are the key to your heart, check out the wishlist at Humane Society of Huron Valley. Items include pet food, towels, blanket, and pet beds.
10. Sponsor a donation drive for Michigan Foster Care Closet. Other ways to help include donating new and like-new items and volunteer opportunities.
These are just some of the ideas and ways you can get involved around the Ann Arbor area. However you give back, we appreciate it!
