Our friends and Michigan destination bloggers, Nick and Andy of MI Playground, visited Ann Arbor for an epic summer adventure. Check out the highlights for top paddleboarding and fishing spots, epic biking trails, and outdoor exploring.

Paddleboard or Kayak at Argo Park

Argo Park offers both challenging paddleboarding and relaxing kayak trips. Adventurers like Nick and Andy enjoy the Argo Cascades with its small rapids and rock chutes, while others prefer the smooth ride on Argo Pond. Kayak rentals are available here.

@mi_playground Argo Park is a fantastic opportunity to get out on the water in Ann Arbor. We are always looking for new things to do in Michigan and this was a ton of fun #annarbor #miplayground ♬ original sound - mi_playground

Plan your route along the Huron River Water Trail flowing through Argo Park and across the Ann Arbor area. Go tubing, kayaking, or paddleboarding. Check river conditions before visiting.

Eats & Exploration

After working up an appetite with your water adventure, it’s time to eat and explore. Nick and Andy visit Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger for lunch before exploring downtown Ann Arbor's art scene.

Waterloo Recreation Area

Nick and Andy visited Chelsea, a designated Pure Michigan Trail Town, for more outdoor fun within the Waterloo Recreation Area. This is the largest state park in Michigan's lower peninsula. During their visit, the guys went fishing and paddleboarding at Mill Lake.

Biking the DTE Energy Foundation Trail

Thrill seekers also love the DTE Energy Foundation Trail within the Waterloo Rec area. Mountain biking and fat tire biking are welcome on the trail. Take a ride on the trail's Sugar Loop.
