Opened on June 21, 2014, this 30,000-square-foot public skatepark, located on the grounds of Veterans Memorial Park, is the perfect place for new and experienced skaters. The skatepark was visited and skated by Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald, Alex Sorgente and Tony Magnusson during the grand opening, and is now open to the public. Hawk said (of the park), "I thought it was great. It's got a good variety of street, and transition. It didn't feel small either." He then went on to say, "This is exactly the kind of project we want to be involved in, where people have persevered to make it happen. Sometimes it can be even longer. The funny thing is that once the city sees how much use it will get they will want to build more. This will get more use than any other facility in town."
