Growing Hope, a nonprofit organization, fosters an equitable and sustainable local food system where all people are empowered to grow, sell, buy, prepare, and eat nourishing food. You'll find them working to educate, inspire, and empower the community — in schools, at their urban farm, at their farmers markets, and around southeast Michigan. Activities include developing and coordinating programs, teaching classes and workshops, developing curricula and training materials, and facilitating partnerships and collaboration. Growing Hope grows vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers on a 1.4-acre demonstration urban farm blocks from downtown Ypsilanti with a commitment to growing positive and healthy futures in Southeast Michigan communities. They also manage an incubator kitchen and run the Ypsilanti Farmers Markets all year round in the Robert C. Barnes Sr. MarketPlace Hall, providing opportunities and resources to local food entrepreneurs and farmers right in downtown Ypsilanti.
